Frame VS Mask
The Frame Maker app now offers two powerful features: Frame and Mask. Both are designed to help you create unique and customizable designs, but they work in slightly different ways. Here’s a breakdown of each feature and their differences:
Frames
Frames allow you to create custom frames that can be used just like Canva’s native frames. Simply drag and drop your images into the frame, and they’ll fit perfectly.
Key Features of Frames:
Customizable Frames: Convert any object into a frame to use in your designs.
Drag-and-Drop Functionality: Seamlessly add images to frames by dragging them from the sidebar.
Limitations:
When creating custom frames with multiple elements, all the elements must be connected to convert them into a frame.

If the selected object has a hollow space inside it, the conversion process will fill that space, making it solid.

Masks
Masks are a new feature in Frame Maker that allow you to fill any design with an image, regardless of whether the elements are connected or not. With masks, you have more creative freedom to bring complex designs to life.
Key Features of Masks:
Image Fills: Fill your images into objects or designs, even if the elements aren’t connected.
Design Freedom: Whatever you create on the Canva canvas—text, shapes, or complex designs—can be converted into a mask.
Limitations:
Masks don’t function like frames where you can drag and drop images directly onto the canvas.
Instead:
Create your design on the canvas.

Convert it into a Mask in the sidebar.

Select your desired image within the sidebar’.

Add it in your design.

Choosing Between Frames and Masks
Use Frames when you need a reusable frame that works with drag-and-drop images directly on the canvas.
Use Masks when you need more flexibility to fill complex or disconnected designs with images.
